Dear Parishioners,
Governor Bill Lee recently issued a stay at home order for all non-essential businesses. In response to this order, I have decided to close the parish office for the time being. We are still available to serve you. If you need anything please call the parish and you will be transferred to Mrs. Debbie Speer. She will be working from home. You can also reach the Parish Staff by e-mail. Please consult our webpage www.saintphilipcc.org to find a list of e-mails.
I will still be available for Drive-Thru Confessions on Saturday from 3pm to 5pm. I will be wearing gloves and a mask. Please maintain the required 6 feet as you drive up in your vehicle. The Deacons and I will give out blessed Palms on Saturday from 5pm to 6pm and again on Sunday from 12:45pm to 2:00pm. Holy Mass will be offered in English on YouTube at 10:00am Sunday and 11:30 in Spanish. I am still available to celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick in case of emergencies. If called upon, I will wear gloves and a mask.
Finally, I cancelled Eucharistic Adoration today, Friday, because I needed more time to pray, consult, and think about what to do next. I have decided to have Eucharistic Adoration in the Church next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of Holy Week from 2pm to 7pm. Please call or e-mail Debbie Speer at 901.465.8685 to sign up for a Holy Hour and adhere rigorously to the social distancing and sanitation guidelines provided by the parish. Please do not come to Eucharistic Adoration until you have received approval from Debbie Speer. Registration is required in order to ensure that we don’t have more than 10 people praying in the Church at the same time.
Thank you for being patient with us as we navigate through uncharted territory. I miss you all and pray for you daily.

Estimados Feligreses,
Dear St. Philip the Apostle parishioners,
Last weekend our parish was tremendously blessed to have Bishop David Talley with us for the 5pm Mass. He has urged us Pastors to be very attentive to our parishioners during this difficult time. As news of COVID-19 and tornados in Nashville hit our news streams, it has become apparent to me that we need to create a St. Philip’s “safety net” for the more fragile members of our community. I am talking about a Buddy system. I’d like to pair up the parishioners that are elderly, immobile, or infirm with other parishioners that can check in on them and assist them as needed. There are many ways to do this. For example, the buddies could provide the following services: check in calls, pick up groceries or medicine, provide transportation for emergencies, look after the pets, make sure I am notified if someone falls ill, etc. I’d like to thank Lynn Van Dongan for initiating this effort and developing a survey for our parishioners so that we can identify needs. Please respond to this simple survey monkey, so we can find those willing to help and those who may need assistance. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BBX22FP Once we have received your responses we will be make assignments and ensure that you are cared for. Please follow the advice of the local authorities and stay safe! Fraternally yours in Christ, Fr. Robbie Favazza, Pastor |
