Liturgical Ministries
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC)
EMHC's assist with the distribution of the Holy Eucharist during Mass.
(body and blood) Training is required. Mass CoordinatorThe responsibility of the Mass Coordinator is to ensure that all of the various Liturgical Minister positions, such as the Lectors, Altar Servers, etc. are filled for each Mass , finding substitutes when necessary.
Altar Servers
The responsibility of the Altar Servers is to assist the priest in the celebration of the Mass. Servers carry out their duty reverently and conscientiously.
Ushers
Ushers are volunteers who assist in the celebration of the Mass.
Their responsibilities include greeting parishioners upon their arrival, help with seating, providing help and assistance to those in attendance, collecting the Offertory, and distribution of weekly bulletins. Ushers can be men or women. Sacristan
A Sacristan is a person who is entrusted with the care of the sacristy. The main responsibility is setting up and cleaning up after the celebration of the Mass.
Training is required. Open to adults. |
Music
St. Paul exhorts us to "be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs , singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts, giving thanks always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father." (Eph 5:19-20)
The beauty of music elevates our souls to God. Vocal and instrumental talents are always welcome. We have several choirs in which you can use your gifts and talents to worship and glorify the Lord. Contact the Director of Liturgical Music for more information. Adult Choir - 18 years and up Youth Choir - High School age Children's Choir - (Maybe) Hispanic Choir Cantors
Cantors lead the congregation in hymns and the other sung parts of the Mass. They chant the responsorial psalm from the Ambo.
Cantors are chosen by our Director of Liturgical Music. Lectors
Lectors are individuals who proclaim the Word of God during Mass.
Training is required. Fresh Linen Team
Volunteers help to keep our church linens clean and fresh.
Each week a volunteer picks up the soiled linens, washes, irons, and returns them during the week. |
