Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal organization open to men 18 years of age or older. Our Knights serve the parish, assist the Pastor, and are active in the community. Members accept the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals, aspire to live in accord with the precepts of the Catholic Church, and are in good standing in the Catholic Church.
St. Philip's Ole Timer's Society (SPOTS)
SPOTS is a wonderful group for those 50 and older.
They meet the second Tuesday of the month in Schaubroeck Hall at 6:0 0 PM. Everyone brings a dish to share and after eating, a game is played. The objective of this group is "fun, food and fellowship". Feed the Hungry Ministry
St. Philip's Feed the Hungry Ministry partners with Fayette Cares to feed the hungry in West Tennessee. Volunteers pick up the food donated by Wal-Mart and bring it to the parish.
The produce is sorted, repackaged, and delivered to the the Rossville Manor or Maplewood residents. St. Philip's commits to serve on the first Monday and first Friday of each month. Volunteers are asked to arrive at the parish around 10:00 AM to participate in this ministry. Feed the Hungry is open to everyone. St. Camillus Ministry (Formally Ministry of the Sick)
The St. Camillus Ministry at St. Philip's provides companionship, spiritual nourishment, and hospitality to the elderly, sick,
and home-bound members of the parish. They eagerly visit nursing homes, hospitals, and private homes. Ministers are happy to visit, pray, and bring Holy Communion to those who desire it. Please contact the parish if you'd like to be part of this ministry. Bereavement Ministry
This ministry provides support and care for those who are
grieving the loss of a loved one. The group meets once a month in Schaubroeck Hall. It is open to everyone in the community . |
Martha & Mary Ministry
The Martha & Mary Ministry provides comfort and care
to family and friends of a deceased loved-one. Encounter Jesus Night
Encounter Jesus Night is a bilingual event that is held
on the first Tuesday of the Month from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM with food and fellowship afterwards. The evening includes Eucharistic Adoration, Beautiful Praise and Worship Music, the Sacrament of Confession, Reflections, Silence, Litanies, etc. It is open to everyone. Laudato Si' Ministry (Formally Green Thumb Ministry)
"Francis asked that part of the friary garden always be left untouched, so that wild flowers and herbs could grow there,
and those who saw them could raise their minds to God, the Creator of such beauty," writes Pope Francis. Volunteers in the Laudato Si' ministry seek to be good stewards of creation by caring for the parish grounds so they remain beautiful and raise our minds to God. Volunteers are divided into teams who mow, weed, and edge our grounds. Laudato Si' Ministry is open to all. AlphaThe hosts of Alpha lead guests to encounter Jesus Christ
through food, talk, and good conversation. It enables people to ask their questions, share ideas, build friendships, and experience the love of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. Alpha is open to everyone. Alpha is held at various times and places throughout the year. Hispanic Ministry
Our Hispanic Ministry offers a wide array of opportunities
to parishioners and non-parishioners. Those opportunities include retreats, prayer services, faith formation, cultural celebrations, language classes, and so much more. |
