Music Notes

·        Adult choir meets on Wednesdays at 6:30, right after daily mass. New members are always welcome. The only requirement is a desire to sing and a commitment to come and rehearse. We sing at the 9:30 mass on Sunday.  Teen choir rehearses on Sunday afternoons at 4:30pm, right before Youth Group.

·        We are looking for more instrumentalists to work with us during mass. So dust off that trumpet, flute, oboe, or whatever, and come and talk to me. We can find room for (almost) any instrument.

·        For information about any of the above, please contact Pat Monz at 828-3833 or pmonz@saintphilipcc.org.

Funeral Choir:

As part of the bereavement ministry at Saint Philip, we are forming a funeral choir. Often at funerals, many in the congregation come from outside the parish, and may not even be Catholic. The bereaved are often not able to sing. In order to provide a warm congregational response during mass, we are forming a funeral choir that will support the congregation in singing the mass parts and hymns. This is a wonderful ministry for those who are retired or do not work, who work at home, who are home-schooled, or who have a flexible schedule.

There will be NO REHEARSALS for this choir. You will simply get a phone call when there is a funeral scheduled. If you can come, you arrive a few minutes before the funeral and gather with the rest of the choir.   You do not have to be able to read music; normal singing such as you do at mass on the weekend is all that is required.  If you are interested please contact Pat Monz at 828-3833 or pmonz@saintphilipcc.org.
